"I took my son to this office for his first teeth cleaning. It was a wonderful experience. The dentist was so nice and helpful. My son is only 2 1/2 and he seemed to really enjoy the dentist. I saw their name on a list of denti-cal
providers that the FC agency had given me. It turns out the list was really old
and they do not accept denti-cal. Even without using insurance the visit was really affordable! I am going to keep going to this dentist even though his insurance is not accepted. That is how good they were!

My son had previously seen a different dentist for an emergency visit when he fell. At the other dentist he screamed the entire time (not in pain, just scared). The fact that he really enjoyed this one really relieved me and made for a great experience."

"As someone who has always been afraid of going to the dentist, needless to say I was quite skeptical when a friend recommended that I try Alpha Dental. I had not been to any dentist in a few years and could visibly see cavities in my mouth that were both painful, and cosmetically displeasing. Upon entering the office, I immediately noticed how clean and organized everything seemed to be. The friendly staff greeted me and introduced me to Dr. Roy Vegter. After having x-rays taken, Dr. Vegter sat down with me to discuss the various options of treatment that we could pursue. For the first time in my life, it seemed as though the dentist was actually concerned with my opinion as to what needed to be done. Every other dentist that I have ever been to has always just sat down, told me I had one option, and then tells me when to have it done. Not this time. Dr. Vegter was genuinely concerned for me and explained what he would like to do, while giving me treatment options at the same time. It is now a year-and-a-half later, and I can tell you that he has been true to his every word. We went about fixing my oral problems at MY own pace, and as he promised, it was 99% pain free. I even had him take out my wisdom teeth, (something that I have avoided for years) and was once again very impressed with his work and staff. I did not know that a dentist's office could be so warm and welcoming, and I finally feel as if I have found my dental home. If I could rate them 6 stars, I would."

"This place is a diamond in the ruff!  I've been to many dentists but havent been able to find one that treated me like my childhood dentist...UNTIL NOW!  You walk into this place and there's nothing but great attitudes and positive acknowledgement.  It's contagious!  Dr. Vinograd greets you with a warm and cheerful smile.  He personally came out to the waiting area to introduce himself.  It's very apparent that this guy loves what he does and is in this career for the heart, not the money.  I am unemployed at the moment and have a basic coverage.  Dr. Vinograd told me everything he was cautious of regarding my teeth, but told me that he didnt feel comfortable doing it without coverage because he didnt want me to have to pay for it out of pocket.  What a great guy!  Unlike other dentists I've been to who do as much work on my teeth as possible to make a buck, Dr. Vinograd cares more about his clients and their finances.  I felt like he had been a family friend for years!  Additionally, I found out that Dr. Vinograd works for Doctors Without Borders.  Long story long, if you want a dentist who is extremely knowledgable, talented, honest and holds great integrity all while carrying a positive attitude and gives his services probono to those in need...this is your guy.  I was very impressed and intend on staying here as long as possible.

Stephanie and Yeri are also assets to this team.  They assist the dentist with front desk and cleanings.  Cheerful and great attitudes all around!  They, too, act like professionals with generous hearts.  Thorough work done on my teeth and I walked out a happy person.

"Alpha Dental was really great and informative. They were quickly able to identify the work that I need to get done and they have competitive rates that are affordable for just about anyone and they even work with those who need it. The Staff was outstanding and they made me feel very welcome in the office. Not to mention the dentist (Dr. Vegter) was really nice and provided great services and information. I have been to plenty of other dental offices and this one genuinely surpassed my expectations. "Dr. Vinograd was very comforting and so relaxed that it helped to calm my nerves. I was just thinking of getting a routine cleaning and checkup but after seeing the photos (he took using a "mouth" camera) and feeling more comfortable, I decided to have the cavities taken care of right there and then.

There were NO injections...which was such a relief and it went by quickly. Truly, I didn't feel any pain. At one point when I was slightly uncomfortable, I lifted my hand and he immediately stopped to check that everything was ok. It's great to know that a dentist cares about the patient - not just rushing through a procedure.

Thank you Dr. Vinograd for making the experience so pleasant. I have already told 2 friends about Alpha Dental.

"Today I FINALLY had my cavities filled--- This was the most easy breezy dental visit ever. In the past my dentist was very rough and actually scared me from going to the dentist for nearly 10 years. I came in for a teeth cleaning, xrays and discovered I had cavities. Since I don't have dental insurance I had to pay out of pocket but was given great prices! No longer afraid of the dentist, Thank you Dr. Vegter!! :)  Also the dental staff is super duper sweet!!"

"I am originally not from the united states and found that I truly did not enjoy going to visit the dentist here since so many have told me I have needed a cavity or other work done despite the fact i have had no pain or need for it.
I think it's been a known fact for me that dentists in the states like to upsell their services which is outrageous!
My mother is a dental nurse and stressed the importance of me going for regular check ups from the time i was little, so I have continued that tradition.
For a while I'd put off my check ups for when I'd go back to my home town (where all different dentists there have told me my teeth are healthy and strong and that i do not have any cavities at all so they are not sure what the us dentists are saying?!)
But then i couldn't keep on waiting for my yearly visit back home to check on my teeth so a friend recommended Dr.Vinograd and I went to see him.

Off the bat, he is so sincere, friendly and personable which already gave me a good feeling. Then when he examined my teeth with really cool equipment he said "it's a pleasure to see teeth like yours" of course i was complimented but more so this is the first dentist i have encountered in the USA who has not lied to me about needing something for my teeth!
He did a thorough exam and i found him to be gentle and easy-going and exceptionally patient - I like to ask a lot of questions :)

Overall i strongly recommend Dr. Vinograd! You couldn't ask for a better demeanor in a dentist (especially knowing we don't all ADORE to make time for check ups for our teeth) he's such a genuine person who is so honest and passionate about what he does I am actually looking forward to my next check up!

"Dr Vinograd and his staff are hands down the best dental office in San Diego. They are all lovely people and very gentle with my mouth.

I found Dr. Vinograd when I was looking for a dentist in San Diego who would safely remove my amalgam ( mercury ) fillings. I was hesitant about whether or not it was worth it to get the old filling removed, but 6 months later I've had only one day with allergies, which I previously had battled daily...If you have chronic allergies it's something you should look into.

I should also say that Dr Vinograd did not pressure me into anything and all together it's just an amazing feeling going to a dentist's office where you feel like YOU are in control."

"Dear Dr. Vegter,  I want to thank you for everything you and your staff have done for me.  I was grateful that you were able to fit me for an appointment on a moment's notice and outlined a treatment plan right away so I knew what to expect.  After having success with the caps you previously did on my front teeth, I knew I was in the best hands to make me look normal again.  I appreciate that you told me each step of the way on what you would be doing and what to expect for each visit, which put me at ease and by this I did not get as anxious with the whole process.  Also personally calling to check how I was feeling and if I had any pain or concerns after procedures was a step above what any other dentist or doctor would do.  I look in the mirror and I am amazed at the great work you did on my "teeth" and find myself smiling all the time now--I think the bridge looks even better than the "real" teeth.  People do not even realize that it is a bridge unless I tell them.  Then I get to tell them what a great dentist you are and how meticulous you are in your work to get things just right, even more so than the patient."
